Our story

Why this home exists

Rocio Cartolin started her own childcare business out of a genuine love for children and a desire to give them a strong foundation for the future. More than 15 years in early childhood education, work with children in NGOs in Peru, studies in education in the United States, and a medical background shape the way this program cares for health, learning, and belonging.

Rocio's Family Child Care provides a secure and nurturing environment for children to explore, learn, and grow. We believe in creating opportunities for children to connect with their educators and the community, fostering a strong foundation for their development and well-being.

The home-based difference

Personalized attention

Children are known by name, rhythm, and story. Educators stay close enough to notice what each child is ready to try next.

Small ratios

A family child care home keeps the group small, so play, meals, and rest feel calm and unhurried.

Emotional security

Consistent caregivers and a familiar home help children feel safe enough to explore, make friends, and try again.

Health and safety commitment

At Rocio's Family Child Care, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for all the children in our care. Our team is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment where children can thrive, explore, and play while feeling secure and protected.

What we hold close

Safety first

Health, cleanliness, and a protected place to explore come before everything else.

Holistic development

Play, language, movement, rest, and friendship grow together through the day.

Cultural and bilingual enrichment

Spanish and English, and Rocio's path from Peru to East Boston, are part of the welcome.

Open parent communication

Families hear about the day and can reach us by phone or email during posted hours.
